Early Life and Education:
Elżbieta Witek was born Elżbieta Barbara Zbanuch on February 11, 1957, in Jarosław, Poland. She graduated from the University of Rzeszów with a degree in economics.
Political Career:
Witek began her political career in the 1990s as a member of the Polish People's Party. In 2005, she joined PiS and was elected to the Sejm. She has since served in various ministerial positions, including Minister of the Treasury (2015-2017) and Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration (2017-2019).
Marshal of the Sejm:
