Florida Panthers Beat Oilers 3-0 to Open Stanley Cup Final

Panthers Goalie Bobrovsky Shuts Out Oilers

Game 1 of the NHL's Stanley Cup Final saw the Florida Panthers emerge victorious, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 on Saturday night at the Amerant Bank Arena in Florida.

Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was instrumental in the Panthers' victory, stopping all 25 shots he faced for his third shutout of the postseason. Carter Verhaeghe led the Panthers in scoring with two goals and an assist, while Anthony Duclair added the other goal.

The Oilers failed to capitalize on their power play opportunities, going 0-for-3. Connor McDavid, the Oilers' captain and leading scorer, was held to one shot on goal.

The Panthers will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Oilers in Game 2 on Monday night.
