Jack Driscoll Returns to Eagles Following Miami Dolphins Stint

Driscoll Back in Philadelphia

Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jack Driscoll has re-signed with the team, just days after being waived by the Miami Dolphins during final roster cuts. Driscoll was part of the Eagles' initial 53-man roster but was released on August 30th to make room for newly acquired cornerback Josiah Scott. He then signed with the Dolphins' practice squad before being elevated to the active roster on September 1st.

A History With the Eagles

Driscoll, a fourth-round pick by the Eagles in the 2020 NFL Draft, has appeared in 18 games (8 starts) for Philadelphia over the past three seasons. He started at right tackle in the Eagles' NFC Divisional Round playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January 2022.

The Eagles' offensive line has been decimated by injuries this preseason, with starting center Jason Kelce, left guard Landon Dickerson, and right tackle Lane Johnson all missing significant time. Driscoll's return provides Philadelphia with much-needed depth along the offensive line.

What's Next for Driscoll?

Driscoll is expected to compete for a starting role at right tackle, with Johnson still recovering from an ankle injury. The Eagles could also use Driscoll as a backup center or guard.

The Eagles will open the 2023 NFL season on the road against the Detroit Lions on September 11th.
